Turtle Cake

This cake is sweet, rich and so good!

Turtle Cake

1 stick butter (or margarine)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
14oz bag of caramels
6oz pkg of chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
German chocolate cake mix

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Make cake mix as directed on box. Pour 1/2 of batter into 13x9 inch pan. Bake for 20 minutes.
Melt butter, caramels and milk completely over low heat.
Take cake out of oven and while still hot, pour 1/2 of caramel mixture over cake. Sprinkle 1/2 of nuts and 6 oz of chocolate chips then pour remaining cake batter over top.
Bake cake 20 more minutes.
(Optional - you may sprinkle additional 6oz of chocolate chips on top after you take out of oven.)
Pour rest of caramel mixture over cake and sprinkle remaining nuts.
Cut, serve and enjoy!
