See Rock City

On our second day in Chattanooga, we visited Rock City and Ruby Falls. Marlie seemed to really enjoy Rock City but we all got worn out by Ruby Falls. In our opinion there was just too much standing and waiting for only a few minutes at the waterfall.
Here's a tip for any of our military friends that might visit - don't buy the bundle ticket for both attractions that offers a discount. You can save a little extra money by buying individual tickets at each attraction and taking advantage of both military discounts!

Tennessee Aquarium

On our way from Kentucky to Georgia we decided to stop in Chattanooga for a night. A friend was able to get us free tickets to the Tennessee Aquarium so we were excited to take Marlie there for the first time.

We ended a fun day with dinner downtown and Ben & Jerry's!

We'll Be Friends Until Forever...

Between birthday parties and playdates, Marlie also got to spend plenty of quality time with her friends during our last few weeks in KY/TN. On our last night there, they gave her a gift bag with activity books (which she loves) and a framed picture of all the kids with a quote on it from Winnie the Pooh - We'll Be Friends Until Forever...Just You Wait and See! All 3 of us love those children and look forward to the day we cross paths again.
Here are a few pictures with her closest friends from the neighborhood.

The Long Goodbye

It seems like we spent the whole month of July saying goodbye to our wonderful friends in Clarksville and Fort Campbell. The most special time, however, was when some of my friends had a surprise goodbye dinner for me. I was just planning on going to eat sushi with 3 other girls from my neighborhood. It had been a long day so I didn't change clothes, fix my hair or put on make up! When we arrived at the restaurant I was shocked to see a variety of my friends from the community. This picture was taken right before the tears started!

Each lady created a scrapbook page about memories that we shared and they were all consolidated into one book that is so special to me.

Here's a picture of the whole group. I have been so blessed to know each one of these ladies (and some others who couldn't be there that night).

The company was amazing that night but the food at Kohana is almost as good! My friends that organized the dinner also bought cupcakes from the best shop in town. They don't look as fancy as some cupcake shops like to make them, but they taste the best!

Shoot Camp!

In July I was able to attend a photography class called Shoot Camp in Nashville. I got my DSLR in December of 2008 and have wanted to learn how to really use it since then. At Shoot Camp, I finally learned how to adjust my camera settings properly and most importantly - not shoot in Auto mode anymore! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day. I don't edit any of my pictures so none of these have been digitally improved or enhanced in any way.

#2

Around the same time we went to the beach, we also began to share with everyone that we are expecting our second child! I am due around the end of January and all 3 of us are excited to add to our family. I had Marlie a special shirt made so that she could share with everyone that she was going to be a big sister!

I'm slacking in most ways with regards to a second child, but I am trying to at least take the infamous belly pictures.

We took a 16 week picture too but it has yet to be downloaded from my camera.
