Meeting a Legend

Living back in Athens has given us the opportunity to share our love for all things UGA with Marlie. She recently had the opportunity to meet the legendary Coach Vince Dooley. She was excited about meeting him even though she's too young to really understand who he is. Bryan & I were pretty excited to meet him too and we all got books signed by him!

Strike a Pose

These are just some random pictures from one day where Marlie started posing and asked me to take pictures of her. Sassy girl!

Halloween 2011

Halloween was another "holiday" that Bryan missed last year, so we were looking forward to having fun together this year.

Pumpkin carving buddies! This is one of those jobs that I was more than happy to hand back over to Bryan!

I caught one of our 2 neighborhood black cats checking out our pumpkin one day and had to get a quick picture.

Coincidentally, one of Marlie's classmates dressed up as the Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz. They also go to AWANA together so on costume night I got a picture of Marlie with him and his cousin (the other Dorothy).

The weekend prior to Halloween we went to Ft Campbell to visit with some of our friends again before they moved. We had an awesome time spending the weekend with some of our favorite people. Marlie even got to participate in some Halloween festivities with her buddies. Here is a picture of all the kids that my friend, April, took.

On Halloween night we just stayed in our neighborhood and Marlie was able to trick or treat with her friend, Caroline. I had my camera on me the whole night yet somehow didn't take any pictures. You can see one of the girls on Katy's blog post. They were definitely trick or treating in style!

Ridge to Bridge Marathon

In October Bryan ran the Ridge to Bridge Marathon in Morganton, North Carolina. I joked with Bryan that since I ran a marathon last year, he couldn't let me out do him so that's why he decided to run one too. ;) Like I said after my race, the actual run isn't the hardest part, it's the training commitment. I'm so proud of Bryan for the great job he did training during his first semester in graduate school. He had a great race too by completing his first marathon in right at 4 hours!
Early morning start at the top of the mountain

4 hours later

Bryan was hurting but I made him take a picture with his medal!

Washington Farms

As I mentioned in the previous post, Marlie's class took a pumpkin patch field trip to Washington Farms. We spent the morning going on a hay ride, visiting the animals in the petting zoo, selecting a pumpkin, having snack and of course playing!
